Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quentin King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rodney Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferguson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Ferguson tries to control but King wriggling away.
King is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ferguson content just to control the position here.
Ferguson avoids the attempt from King to control.
King tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ferguson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ferguson trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Ferguson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… King is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by King and Ferguson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
King is not content to let Ferguson control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
King is trying to improve his position.
Ferguson scores with punches from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ferguson decides to stand back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ferguson is defended easily by King.

Ferguson drives through with a takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now King is on top in guard.
Ferguson being controlled here, momentarily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ferguson trying to control the position.
Ferguson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Ferguson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
King pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ferguson is keeping the position for now.
King slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
King wants to control from the top but Ferguson keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Ferguson shoots in and bounces King off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ferguson looks gassed!
King tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferguson trying to control but King is working from the bottom.
King looking to control.
King striking off his back but it's not causing Ferguson any problems.

King working for a triangle but Ferguson defends it easily.

Ferguson looking to improve position, pressing down on King's thigh with his hand. King seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Ferguson paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Ferguson's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! King picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
