Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between roger whitmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Curtis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Curtis has chosen Run to the Hills as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, roger whitmore! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ken Curtis! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Curtis. A lazy left from Curtis finds it's target. Curtis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows whitmore to score an easy takedown into full guard. whitmore stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Curtis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Curtis is pulling down on whitmore's head. It's preventing any offense from whitmore, at least for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as whitmore accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Curtis working a defensive guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. whitmore trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. whitmore trying to control the position from guard on top but Curtis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. whitmore tries to free his leg and advance position but Curtis is retaining full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Curtis throws a right hand that whitmore ducks under and follows up with a left that whitmore also avoids with ease. Curtis misses with a looping right. whitmore shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Curtis napping and manages to drive through into side control! whitmore misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
whitmore wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Curtis, who protects the arm well. Curtis stops whitmore from passing to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. whitmore wants to control but Curtis is keeping him busy. whitmore throwing strikes but Curtis manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Curtis trying to control the action but whitmore is working from the bottom. Curtis throws an elbow but whitmore slips to the side and avoids it well. whitmore tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Curtis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Curtis thows a body shot but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Curtis throws a head kick that misses. A punch combination from Curtis misses. Curtis checks a leg kick. Curtis shoots and misses and whitmore moves into the clinch. whitmore keeps control of Curtis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Curtis is trying to break free. Curtis tries to circle away but whitmore has him pinned against the cage. Curtis prevents a takedown attempt there.
whitmore goes for a takedown attempt but Curtis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Curtis fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. whitmore uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Curtis. Curtis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
whitmore shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Curtis is trying to defend but whitmore finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Curtis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but whitmore scores with a couple of nice shots. whitmore wants to take a breather but Curtis is having none of it. Curtis is holding on to half guard well. whitmore is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that roger whitmore will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Curtis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and whitmore decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Curtis's guard. whitmore trying to control the position from guard on top but Curtis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. whitmore controls the pace of the fight for a moment. whitmoreis looking to pass into half guard but Curtis pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Curtis is in guard. Curtis wants to control from the top but whitmore keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. whitmore lands with a heel strike from the guard.
whitmore is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. whitmore tries to strike from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. whitmore is striking off his back. Curtis thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Curtis is looking for a kimura but whitmore is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Curtis to get the leverage. whitmore is pressing down on Curtis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. whitmore will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
whitmore doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
whitmore is trying to keep Curtis in close.
whitmore manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
whitmore has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. whitmore takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. whitmore breaks from Curtis's wrist control and lands an elbow. Curtis is looking to get to half guard. whitmore goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Curtis turns into him and now he's in whitmore's guard.
whitmore wants to sweep but no luck. whitmore can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Curtis controls the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. whitmore has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Curtis has passed into side control.
whitmore regains half guard. whitmore is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Curtis pulls his head out easily. Curtis wants to pass to mount but whitmore is defending the position. Curtis thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Curtis tries to stand and escape but whitmore is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. whitmore tries to get to full guard but Curtis has control of the leg. Curtis wants to control but whitmore is keeping him busy. whitmore tries to get to full guard but Curtis has control of the leg.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Curtis misses with a looping left. Curtis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. whitmore sees it coming and avoids it easily. Curtis clinches but whitmore breaks the clinch and whitmore counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by whitmore. whitmore has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Curtis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. whitmore pushes Curtis back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. A looping hook to the body misses from whitmore. Curtis does a little dance to reset his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
roger whitmore dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Curtis works the jab nicely. whitmore avoids a punch combination nicely.
Curtis closes the distance looking to clinch and whitmore counters with a nice double leg into side control. Curtis won't be happy with that. Curtis prevents whitmore from improving position. Curtis tries to improve position but can't. whitmore tries to score with some ground and pound. Curtis controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Curtis tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but whitmore presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Curtis in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. whitmore wants to control the pace but Curtis is squirming around nicely. whitmore thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
whitmore goes for an armbar but Curtis turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Curtis. whitmore avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. whitmore is looking for a triangle here but Curtis uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
whitmore tries to bench press Curtis off him but Curtis keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. whitmore is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Curtis off and has taken his back! whitmore working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. roger whitmore overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Curtis looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. whitmore is throwing shots to the body but Curtis manages to wriggle free. whitmore pounces on him again and ends up in Curtis's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. whitmore is looking to work some ground and pound but Curtis has wrist control. Curtis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Curtis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control whitmore kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Curtis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. whitmore fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Curtis sprawls well initially but whitmore persists and gets the takedown into half guard. whitmore thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Curtis's head. whitmore wants to pass the guard but Curtis is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. whitmore is looking for a kimura here.
Curtis regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from whitmore. Curtis wants to get back to his feet but whitmore is in a dominant position and won't allow it. whitmore with a flurry of punches that miss.
And that's the end of the fight! roger whitmore showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for whitmore, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
