Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roman Empire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fasu Veijari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Empire comes to the cage accompanied by Protectors of the Earth. Veijari has chosen Konvehdinmussuttajat - Älä lyö naamaan as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Empire throws out a loose jab but Veijari uses good head movement to avoid it.
Empire throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The fighters circling - Veijari throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Veijari looks to score with a jab to the body but Empire is just out of range.
Empire gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Empire tries to close the distance and clinch but Veijari swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Empire doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Empire tries to close the distance and clinch up but Veijari swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A slow jab from Empire misses its intended target.
Veijari throws a jab when Empire was well out of range.
Empire tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Veijari closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Empire tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
The referee is taking a good look at Empire as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Veijari!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Empire is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Veijari off. It looks like it's working - Veijari slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Empire displaying calm under pressure there.
Horrible takedown by Veijari or perhaps it was just good defense by Empire which made him look bad.

Veijari ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Empire moves away.

Fasu Veijari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Empire tries to close the distance and clinch but Veijari swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
