Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Erickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Erickson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Erickson showed some decent athleticism there.

Edwards bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Erickson's guard.

Erickson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Edwards wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Edwards is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Erickson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Edwards thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Edwards tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Edwards has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Erickson tries to buck Edwards off but Edwards is having none of it.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Erickson will probably get the nod.
