Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Abodohl Makadabi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abodohl Makadabi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abodohl Makadabi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Jimenez!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makadabi tries to clinch but Jimenez is having none of it.
Jimenez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Makadabi.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jimenez lands a nice elbow.
Makadabi stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Jimenez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Makadabi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jimenez throws a right and a left that Makadabi avoids nicely.
Makadabi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jimenez but Jimenez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Makadabi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jimenez shoots and misses

and Makadabi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jimenez's guard now.

Jimenez has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Makadabi off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Makadabi tries for a takedown but Jimenez circles away easily

so Jimenez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abodohl Makadabi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Makadabi is breathing heavily.
Jimenez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Makadabi is trying to escape back to his feet but Jimenez uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Jimenez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Makadabi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Jimenez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Makadabi won't be happy with that.

Makadabi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jimenez on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Makadabi is staying active underneath Jimenez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Makadabi is trying to escape back to his feet but Jimenez uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Makadabi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Jimenez counters with a single leg into guard. Makadabi didn't expect that.

Makadabi wants to stand up but Jimenez is controlling him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jimenez winds up and cracks Makadabi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Makadabi's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jimenez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Makadabi looks a forlorn figure.
Makadabi wants to try and get back to his feet.
Jimenez is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Jimenez wants to control the pace but Makadabi is squirming around nicely.
Makadabi really wants to buck Jimenez off and get back to his feet.
Alex Jimenez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Makadabi on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Makadabi tries to get out of the position.

Jimenez breaks from Makadabi's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Makadabi is trying to stand.
Makadabi takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Jimenez tries to control but Makadabi wriggling away.
Jimenez is landing with some decent strikes but Makadabi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Jimenez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Makadabi is looking to escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Makadabi wants to stand and escape but instead Jimenez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Jimenez prevents Makadabi from getting back to his feet.

Makadabi is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Jimenez dives into side control.
Jimenez is staying tight to Makadabi's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Jimenez decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Makadabi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Makadabi wanted to stand there but Jimenez had control of the position.

Makadabi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Makadabi lands in his opponent's guard.

Makadabi stands and steps away. Jimenez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Makadabi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Makadabi goes for a takedown attempt but Jimenez pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Jimenez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Makadabi to the mat! Makadabi manages to get full guard.
Jimenez postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Makadabi wants to get back to his feet but Jimenez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jimenez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Makadabi's guard.
Makadabi pushes Jimenez off looking to stand but Jimenez dives back in and keeps control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Abodohl Makadabi showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jimenez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
