The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Melianko.
Melianko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Melianko scores with a crisp jab that stopped Newman in his tracks.
It looks like Shawn Newman has been cut.
Melianko wants to clinch.
Melianko clobbers Newman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Newman takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Newman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Nice defenses there by Newman.
Newman is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Melianko doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Newman crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Newman's bad books for that mishap!
