The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor misses with a takedown attempt - Fedor sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Taylor lands with a nice combination. Fedor backs away looking to recover.

Fedor swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Taylor counters by clinching up.

Fedor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fedor has his takedown stuffed

and Taylor counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Taylor is pushing down on Fedor's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fedor is fighting to maintain full guard but Taylor has managed to sneak the leg through.
Fedor moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Taylor stands up over Fedor, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Taylor slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Taylor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fedor can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fedor has his feet on Taylor's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
