Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Basilia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Jitsu has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Alex Basilia's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Basilia shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jitsu manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jitsu wants to sweep but no luck.
Jitsu has his hands on Basilia's head, controlling the position.
Basilia wanted to stand there but Jitsu had control of the position.
Jitsu pulls Basilia in close to prevent any damage.
Jitsu controls Basilia momentarily but Basilia frees himself.

Jitsu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Basilia tries to hold on but Jitsu pushes him away.
Basilia really wants to buck Jitsu off and get back to his feet.
Basilia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jitsu on the ground.
Basilia is squirming around, avoiding Jitsu's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Basilia swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Basilia reaches up to try and control the position but Jitsu seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Basilia rolls and tries to escape and now Jitsu has his back!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jitsu has his opponent's back but Basilia is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Jitsu.
Basilia is breathing heavily.

Basilia goes for an armbar but Jitsu turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Jitsu.
Basilia wants to stand up but Jitsu is controlling him.

Jitsu thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jitsu stops Basilia from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Alex Basilia will probably get the nod.

Jitsu stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jitsu wants it to stay on the feet.
Jitsu misses with a series of wild punches.

Jitsu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Basilia swats him away and circles back towards the center.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Basilia is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jitsu.

Jitsu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jitsu pulls Basilia in to control the position.
Jitsu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jitsu is controlling the pace.
Basilia tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Basilia wants to control but Jitsu is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Jitsu seems to be working for a kimura but Basilia defends the submission attempt.
Basilia could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Basilia is trying to escape back to his feet but Jitsu uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Basilia can't do much from the bottom here.

Basilia is trying to defend against the choke here but Jitsu has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Jitsu Tightens the hold and Basilia taps out furiously! Jitsu displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). John Jitsu!
