Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Takanori Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Ng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi comes to the cage accompanied by entrance. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Gomi.
Gomi closes the distance and clinches up with Ng, looking for a takedown. Gomi pushes Ng against the cage but Ng circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ng doesn't manage to clinch there - Gomi circles away.
Ng slips under a jab from Gomi.
Ng missing with a left hand there. Gomi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Takanori Gomi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ng has managed to clinch.
Gomi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ng avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Gomi has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ng regains guard immediately.

Ng pushes Gomi off and gets back to his feet.
Gomi throws a hook to the side of Ng's head but Ng sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Ng throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gomi.
Gomi throws a looping overhand right but Ng ducks down to avoid it.

Ng rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gomi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ng will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nice uppercut lands for Gomi. That snapped Ng's head back.

Gomi stalks Ng and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ng's face. Ng staggers backwards, shaken.
Gomi misses with a straight left.

Gomi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gomi is looking to take a break and control but Ng is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ng regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Gomi.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gomi slips nicely into half guard.
Gomi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Ng is trying to control but can't.
Gomi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gomi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ng keeps working.
Gomi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ng pushes Gomi off looking to stand but Gomi dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Gomi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ng does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
