PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Mousaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mousaki comes into the arena with I'M Back blaring out of the sound system. Savage is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Vote With a Bullet by Corrosion of Conformity. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage throws a head kick but Mousaki moves out of range.
Mousaki fails with a takedown attempt.

Mousaki is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Savage's half guard.

Mousaki has control of Savage's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Savage regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Savage is bucking up trying to escape but Mousaki cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Savage tries to lock up and control but Mousaki gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Savage takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Mousaki is landing with some decent strikes but Savage is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Savage is desperately trying to improve his position but Mousaki has a good base and remains in mount.
Savage is squirming around, avoiding Mousaki's attempts to control the action.

Mousaki swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Savage is now in Mousaki's guard. A big mistake from Mousaki there, giving up the dominant position!
Savage controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Savage passes Mousaki's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Savage is working for a kimura but Mousaki is defending it quite comfortably.

Savage moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Mousaki.
Mousaki tries to bench press Savage off him but Savage keeps the position.
Mousaki managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Savage.
Mousaki wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Savage wants to control for a moment but Mousaki uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Mousaki has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Savage throws a head kick that Mousaki semi-blocks.

Savage moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Savage tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Savage tries to close the distance and clinch but Mousaki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Savage doesn't manage to clinch there - Mousaki circles away.

Savage bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Jackson Savage is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mousaki dodges an elbow strike from Savage.
Savage pushes off an throws an elbow but Mousaki leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Savage's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A close round but Jackson Savage will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mousaki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Savage throws out the jab.
Savage tries to clinch but Mousaki is having none of it.

Mousaki shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Savage manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Savage looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Mousaki is defending well. Savage quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mousaki has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Savage celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
