Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hakeam Ruhleez!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruhleez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Williams moves away.
Williams stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ruhleez.
Williams uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ruhleez.
A head kick misses from Ruhleez.
Williams fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Williams looks for a takedown but Ruhleez sprawls well.
Williams misses with a double jab.
Ruhleez tries to close the distance and clinch but Williams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ruhleez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ruhleez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Ruhleez cracks Williams with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

It looks like Pete Williams has been cut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ruhleez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ruhleez takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Williams cracks Ruhleez with a big right hand but Ruhleez just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Ruhleez is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Williams has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ruhleez has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Williams gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.

Williams closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Williams lands in his opponent's guard.
Ruhleez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Williams throws a looping overhand right but Ruhleez ducks down to avoid it.
Williams walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ruhleez checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Ruhleez drives through and clinches with Williams against the cage.
Williams drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ruhleez pulls his leg out and moves away.
Williams throws a combination. Ruhleez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ruhleez misses with a looping right.

Williams walks into a stiff left hand from Ruhleez.

Ruhleez gets caught flat footed, as Williams shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ruhleez wants to get back to his feet but Williams is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Williams, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
