Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Austin Cane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason St James!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with St James but St James pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cane pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Cane fails with the takedown.
Cane will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Austin Cane. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cane has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cane drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cane has St James pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. St James manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Cane is trying to break free.
Cane goes for a takedown in the clinch but St James prevents it.
St James tries for a takedown but Cane manages to get underhooks.
St James tries to break free but Cane pushes him back against the cage.

St James turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and St James manages to end up in side control.

St James wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cane, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
St James is staying tight to Cane's torso, preventing him from escaping.

St James goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cane rolls with the submission and now he's on top in St James's guard! Nice work there by Cane!
Cane trying to stand up but can't free himself from St James's guard.
Cane is breathing heavily.
St James lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cane!
St James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Cane tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Cane is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
St James controlling the position easily from mount.

St James looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cane wants to control but St James is having none of it.
Cane tries to get back to half guard but can't.
St James trying to control but Cane is having none of it.

St James get's back to his feet.
St James slaps away a takedown attempt from Cane, before circling back to the center of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason St James dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


St James throws a series of punches but Cane moves out of range.
Cane shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as St James sprawls well. St James wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cane gets slowly back to his feet.

St James shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than St James was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cane is looking to get to half guard.
St James controlling the position easily from mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

St James can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cane is looking to escape.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jason St James just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cane rushes St James and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Cane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

St James decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

St James keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
St James frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
St James controlling the pace for now.
St James tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
St James trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Cane tries to reverse the position but St James maintains control.

St James jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cane is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cane and St James has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Cane gets back to half guard.
Still in half guard, St James seems content to control.
Cane has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. St James is working away from the top position though.
St James is figuring out what he wants to do next.

St James is working for a kimura but Cane is defending it quite comfortably.
St James prevents Cane from improving his position.
St James stalling.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

St James seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason St James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Cane throws a quick head kick that skims the top of St James's head.
Cane misses with a takedown

and St James counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
St James thows a big elbow that misses.

St James stands up and waves to Cane to follow him.
St James pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cane avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

St James shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Cane wants to hold on but St James pushes him away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
St James tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
St James is stalling here but it's allowed Cane to get half guard.

St James passes the guard and advances to mount!
Cane tries to hold on but St James pushes him away.
Cane is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because St James is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Cane is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
St James looking to control and managing it successfully.
St James avoids the attempt from Cane to control.

St James is going olschool here, as he tries to force Cane to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cane shrugs it off.
St James tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Cane tries to lock up and control but St James gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
St James controlling his opponent.
Cane is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
St James looking to control but Cane is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Jason St James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Cane is wriggling around trying to escape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
St James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cane is in all sorts of trouble here.

St James is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Cane has managed to escape the submission attempt.
You get the feeling that Cane really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Cane is trying to escape the mount.

St James is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Jason St James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got St James winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
