Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Max Powers!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ben Gorden!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorden dodges the punch combination from Powers.
Gorden takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Powers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gorden shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gorden was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gorden is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Powers has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gorden with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Gorden working for a submission but Powers is keeping him at bay.
Gorden in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Powers on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Powers tries to get out of the position.
Gorden has hold of Powers's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Powers manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Gorden jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Powers manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Powers sneaks back into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gorden prevents Powers from standing back up.
Gorden is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Powers is just riding it out for now. Gorden eventually gives up the hold.
Gorden looks gassed!
Gorden trying to control the action but Powers is working from the bottom.
Powers wants to get back to his feet.
Powers is refusing to be controlled, as Gorden sits in half guard.
Powers trying to hold on to Gorden's head to control him but Gorden postures up.
Powers tries to get to full guard but Gorden has control of the leg.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Powers stuns Gorden with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Oooh a lovely combination from Powers sends Gorden down but not out. Powers dives into side control looking to finish.
Gorden is rocked!
It looks like Ben Gorden has been cut.
Powers stands up and beckons Gorden to his feet.
Gorden is still on wobbly legs! Can Powers finish him?
Powers lands a brutal uppercut that launches Gorden off his feet! Gorden tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Max Powers!
Max Powers retains his bantamweight title!
