Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Julian de Rijger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Julian de Rijger has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Julian de Rijger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bruce Slater!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

de Rijger shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Slater is trying to defend but de Rijger finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

de Rijger seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Slater does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

de Rijger seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

de Rijger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slater on the ground.

Slater is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and de Rijger defends well.

Slater isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. de Rijger stacks Slater on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by de Rijger!

Bruce Slater seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

de Rijger bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

de Rijger on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if de Rijger tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Slater feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Slater working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. de Rijger doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. de Rijger manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close second round but I would say that Julian de Rijger will probably get the nod.

and de Rijger decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Slater's guard.
de Rijger distracts Slater with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Slater has his foot on de Rijger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. de Rijger works his way back into a safe position though.

He's looking for a kimura. de Rijger seems comfortable defending it but Slater has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! de Rijger is real pain and he's forced to tap out! de Rijger is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Slater couldn't care less - he's delighted!
