Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fedor Emelianenko will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko throws a right and a left that both miss.

Freeman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Emelianenko is just riding it out for now. Freeman eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Freeman wants to pass the guard but Emelianenko is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Some wild striking there from Emelianenko.
Freeman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Emelianenko sprawls well. Emelianenko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Freeman gets slowly back to his feet.
Freeman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Emelianenko finds it's way round the side to connect with Freeman's head.

Freeman drops back, looking for a kneebar! Emelianenko looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Emelianenko looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Emelianenko!
Freeman is trying to work for a sweep but Emelianenko has mounted him!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Emelianenko feints and as Freeman raises his hands in defense, Emelianenko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Freeman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Freeman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Emelianenko has picked Freeman up and slammed him! Freeman can't keep hold of the triangle and Emelianenko manages to pass to side control!

Freeman shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Emelianenko napping and manages to drive through into side control!
