PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Robert Tabares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Contreras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tabares comes into the arena with down with the sickness blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tabares drops Contreras with a beautiful combination! Contreras stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Tabares is looking for the KO!

Contreras is rocked!

It looks like Vincent Contreras has been cut.
Tabares throws a sloppy head kick and Contreras moves out of range easily.
Contreras is still on wobbly legs! Can Tabares finish him?
Contreras tries for a takedown but Tabares sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tabares misses with a head kick.

Tabares clinches with his opponent.

Tabares jumps into guard, dragging Contreras to the mat.
Contreras seems to have recovered his senses.
Tabares trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Tabares could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Contreras is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tabares is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tabares has escaped and now he's on top!
Tabares trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Contreras is looking for a triangle but Tabares pushes his legs off easily.
Contreras looks gassed!

Tabares makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Tabares gets to his feet. Contreras looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Tabares feints and as Contreras raises his hands in defense, Tabares changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tabares has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tabares is pushing down on Contreras's leg trying to pass to half guard. Contreras is fighting to maintain full guard but Tabares has managed to sneak the leg through.
Tabares works his way into side control.

Tabares has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Contreras is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Tabares yanks on the arm and Contreras is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Tabares.
