Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Surto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Alexander is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Surto moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alexander thows a body kick. Surto tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Alexander closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Surto did well to prevent Alexander getting side control.
Alexander is taking a breather. Surto says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Surto is trying to stand.
Alexander tries to pass the half guard into mount. Surto knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Alexander moves nicely into side control.
Surto is not content to let Alexander control the position.
Surto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alexander on the ground.
Alexander might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Surto kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

I looks like Alexander might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Alexander uses his free foot to push down on Surto's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Surto.

That's time! Surto's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

You can see the frustration on Surto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
