PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Linus Rydanovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nakajami Nokioas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rydanovic comes into the arena with acdc - war machine blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nokioas rushes Rydanovic and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rydanovic looking to stall.
Rydanovic tries to score a body lock takedown but Nokioas shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Rydanovic is trying to break free.
Nokioas lands with a short head shot on the inside.
A bit of stalling here from Nokioas.
Rydanovic wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Nokioas has him pressed against the cage.
Rydanovic has had enough of the clinch but Nokioas keeps him there for the moment.
Rydanovic struggles to land a body shot inside as Nokioas controls his hands.

Rydanovic escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nokioas changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rydanovic looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Nokioas stands up and beckons Rydanovic to his feet.

Nokioas shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rydanovic napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Nokioas moves into full mount!

Nokioas lands a heavy elbow.
Nokioas controlling from the full mount.
Rydanovic trying desperately to get to his feet.
Nokioas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Nokioas fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nokioas looking to control and managing it successfully.
Rydanovic is looking to improve his position but Nokioas isn't that keen on the idea.

Nokioas wants to finish this one by submission but Rydanovic is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Nokioas.
Nokioas breaks from Rydanovic's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nakajami Nokioas dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Rydanovic closes the distance but Nokioas moves to the side

and Nokioas counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Nokioas is working for a kimura but Rydanovic is defending it quite comfortably.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rydanovic tries to roll over but Nokioas keeps him under control.

Nokioas sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Nakajami Nokioas just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nokioas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Nokioas scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Nokioas has Rydanovic up against the cage in a clinch.

Rydanovic goes for a takedown attempt but Nokioas pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Nokioas takes the fight into the clinch.
Rydanovic has Nokioas pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Nokioas manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Nokioas pulls guard effortlessly.
Rydanovic throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Rydanovic wants to get up but he can't break Nokioas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Nokioas pulls Rydanovic in close to prevent any damage.

Nakajami Nokioas has got the better of the ground game so far.

Nokioas is working an open guard so Rydanovic takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Rydanovic gets caught flat footed, as Nokioas shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Rydanovic is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nokioas is looking to control Rydanovic's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nokioas avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rydanovic is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nokioas defends it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rydanovic stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Nokioas to get to his feet.

Rydanovic rushes Nokioas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Nokioas is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rydanovic can't fight it off and eventually Nokioas manages to take the fight to the floor. Rydanovic looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Rydanovic had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nokioas is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rydanovic Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nokioas's back instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nakajami Nokioas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
