The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Jefferson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Selk rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jefferson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Selk looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jefferson fails in his attempt to clinch.

Selk rushes Jefferson and presses him up against the cage.
Jefferson lands an elbow just above Selk 's eye.

It looks like Gord Selk has been cut.
Jefferson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Selk backwards.

Jefferson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Selk uses from the top position.
Selk loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
