Boddy has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. John Boddy could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rafael Dos Santos's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Dos Santos rushes Boddy and presses him up against the cage.

Dos Santos has hold of one of Boddy's legs. Boddy is fighting the takedown attempt but Dos Santos gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Boddy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Dos Santos gets to his feet. Boddy looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Dos Santos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Dos Santos swings around for an armbar but Boddy sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dos Santos's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boddy misses with a takedown attempt

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
so Dos Santos counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Boddy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dos Santos feints and as Boddy raises his hands in defense, Dos Santos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Boddy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Boddy is taking a breather. Dos Santos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dos Santos looks like he's trying to stand up.

Rafael Dos Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Boddy gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dos Santos has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boddy is proving hard to escape from.
