PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vince Shlomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Winchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shlomi comes into the arena with For whom the bell tolls blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Shlomi!
Winchester blocks a head kick by Shlomi.

Winchester shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shlomi napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Winchester is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shlomi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Shlomi on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Shlomi wants to get back to his feet but Winchester drags him back down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Winchester remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Winchester tries to advance position but instead Shlomi slips a leg back in to half guard.

You get the feeling that Shlomi really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Winchester goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Shlomi turns into him and now he's in Winchester's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Winchester has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Shlomi has passed into side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shlomi happy to just control the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vince Shlomi will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
