Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Herbert Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baz Baldwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Herbert Dean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Baz Baldwin!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dean ducks under a wild hook from Baldwin.
Baldwin misses with a leg kick.

Baldwin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dean to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Dean wants to pass the guard but Baldwin is keeping the position.
Baldwin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Dean is looking to improve his position but Baldwin isn't that keen on the idea.
Dean wants to hold on but Baldwin pushes him away.

Dean is looking to get to half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Baldwin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Dean is trying to control Baldwin's posture but Baldwin avoids it.

Dean is looking for a sweep.
Baldwin trying to control the position but Dean is working away.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Dean manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Dean throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Dean tries to pass the half guard into mount. Baldwin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dean is stalling here. Baldwin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dean seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Baldwin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dean manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Dean is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dean is working hard here to advance position.
Dean gets back to full guard.
Dean not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Baldwin looking to sit in guard and control but Dean gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Dean trying to control but Baldwin is working from the bottom.
Dean pushing down on Baldwin's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Dean tries to pass the half guard into mount. Baldwin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Dean is looking for a kimura but Baldwin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dean to get the leverage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Baldwin controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Dean wants to lay and pray for a moment but Baldwin keeps working.

Baldwin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dean is working away from the top position though.

Dean wants to control but Baldwin is keeping him busy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dean shoots for a double leg takedown but Baldwin sprawls well. He's pushed Dean's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dean is defended easily by Baldwin.

Dean darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Baldwin controlling the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Herbert Dean dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Dean moves away from the strike by Baldwin.
Baldwin loads up on a big right hand but Dean slips the punch.

Dean is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Baldwin sees it coming and defends easily.

Dean prevents Baldwin from improving his position.

Dean seems to be working for a kimura but Baldwin defends the submission attempt.

Baldwin can't keep his opponent in guard - Dean advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Baldwin is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Baldwin manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Dean tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Baldwin is not content to let Dean control the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Dean is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Baldwin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Dean moves into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dean goes for an armbar but Baldwin turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Baldwin.

Baldwin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dean has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baldwin has managed to get both his arms back between Dean's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dean is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dean is pulling down on Baldwin's head to control his posture.

Dean has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Baldwin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dean has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Baldwin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dean.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Herbert Dean overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Baldwin stands up and beckons Dean to join him on the feet.
Dean ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Dean drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dean tries to advance to mount but Baldwin denies him.

Baldwin is looking to reverse the position.
Baldwin is not content to let Dean control the position.
Baldwin tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Dean tries for a kimura but Baldwin is defending well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Baldwin regains half guard.

Herbert Dean showed his dominance in that final round.
