And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy wants to clinch.
A punch combination from Kovac misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Kovac throws a series of punches but Hardy moves out of range.
Hardy punishes Kovac's body with a nice straight punch.
Hardy throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hardy looks to throw the jab but Kovac is out of range.
Kovac uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hardy.
Hardy circles away from the clinch attempt.

Hardy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hardy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kovac's guard.
Kovac looks gassed!

Hardy is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Hardy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kovac defends it well.
Kovac wants to get back to his feet.
Hardy winds up and cracks Kovac with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hardy lands a nice short elbow.

Hardy maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kovac could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Hardy has cracked it and Kovac is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Hardy!
