The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamm misses the shot to the body.
Hamm wants to land a leg kick but Vera is out of range.
Hamm lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hamm tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vera swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hamm swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Vera pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Vera drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hamm wants to stand up but Vera is controlling him.
Vera won't allow Hamm to sweep him here.
Vera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Hamm counters with a good, hard body kick but Vera shrugs it off.
