Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Don Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Stenemo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corleone will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Corleone lands a head kick. Stenemo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Corleone lands with a nice combination. Stenemo backs away looking to recover.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Stenemo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Corleone - the referee stops the clock and Stenemo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Corleone. Stenemo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Stenemo gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Corleone.
Don Corleone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stenemo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Corleone but Corleone pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Corleone counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Corleone gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Corleone misses with an elbow over the top.
Corleone jumps guard but Stenemo stands there with Corleone around his waist. Corleone gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stenemo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
