The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meeoff fails with an attempt to clinch.
Meeoff throws a sloppy head kick and Fontana moves out of range easily.
Meeoff shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fontana sprawls well. Fontana wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Meeoff gets slowly back to his feet.

Meeoff gets caught flat footed, as Fontana shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Meeoff utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Fontana missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Fontana trying to control but Meeoff is working from the bottom.

Meeoff looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fontana is one step ahead there.
Fontana throws a big right hand that misses.
Fontana throwing strikes but missing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Fontana misses with a head kick.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Fontana drives through with a takedown into guard.
Meeoff is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Meeoff trying to strike off his back.
Meeoff is trying to keep Fontana in close.

Fontana has gone for a leg lock! Meeoff slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fontana's guard.

Meeoff drops back looking for a leg! Fontana is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fontana manages to kick Meeoff off! Meeoff jumps back into Fontana's guard.

Fontana has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Meeoff can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meeoff throws a big right hand that misses.
Meeoff postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Fontana is looking to stand up but Meeoff isn't so interested in that idea.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Meeoff trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fontana's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Meeoff drops Fontana with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Fontana looks back up at him and smiles so Meeoff waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Fontana is rocked!

It looks like Jack Fontana has been cut.
Meeoff lands a brutal uppercut that launches Fontana off his feet! Fontana tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jack Meeoff!
