Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greek Gyros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lay Pray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gyros comes to the ring accompanied by Greek Gyros. Pray has chosen Don't Fear the Reaper- Blue Oyster Cult as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greek Gyros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lay Pray!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pray tries for a takedown but Gyros sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gyros tries to clinch but Pray is having none of it.

Gyros scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Pray is looking to reverse the position.
Pray gets back to half guard.
Gyros not doing much here.
Pray is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gyros is trying to control the action in half guard but Pray is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Pray manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Gyros pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pray is keeping the position for now.
Gyros trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Gyros with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Pray looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gyros is one step ahead there.

Gyros wants to stand up but Pray has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Pray is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Gyros is trying to control the position but Pray postures up.
Gyros keeping moving, preventing Pray from controlling successfully.
Gyros wants to sweep here but Pray controlling him for the moment.
Pray is in close to Gyros's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Pray is standing up over Gyros. Gyros looks to escape but Pray dives into side control.
Gyros manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pray's best efforts.
Pray content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Gyros is not content to let Pray control the position.

Gyros wants to get back to his feet.
Pray wants to control but Gyros is keeping him busy.
Pray wants to pass the guard but Gyros is defending well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pray fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Pray shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pray was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Pray looks gassed!
Pray avoids the attempt from Gyros to control.
Pray is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gyros can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Gyros sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Pray passes to full mount!
Pray controlling his opponent.
Pray wants to control the pace but Gyros is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lay Pray dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Gyros lands with a nice combination. Pray backs away looking to recover.

Pray looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gyros!
Gyros tries to reverse the position but Pray maintains control.
Pray looking to control and managing it successfully.
Pray trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gyros trying desperately to get to his feet.
Gyros keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pray looking to control but Gyros is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Gyros is trying to escape the mount.
Pray wants to control the pace but Gyros is squirming around nicely.
Pray controlling his opponent.
Gyros is looking to get to half guard.
Gyros regains half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pray performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Despite being in the dominant position, Lay Pray just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pray shoots and misses
and Gyros counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Pray is breathing heavily.
Gyros shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pray as he avoids it easily.
Gyros looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lay Pray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Gyros counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gyros.
Lay Pray has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gyros wants to control from the top but Pray keeps moving.
Pray wants to sweep here but Gyros controlling him for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pray can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gyros trying to control the position from guard on top but Pray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pray shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gyros sprawls well. Gyros wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pray gets slowly back to his feet.
Greek Gyros has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lay Pray.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pray shoots and misses

and Gyros decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pray's guard.
Gyros preventing the sweep.
Pray looking to control.
Pray might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gyros kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Gyros is looking to stand up but Pray won't let him.
Pray looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gyros puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Pray trying to hold on to Gyros's head to control him but Gyros postures up.
Gyros is pressing down on Pray's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pray is holding on for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Gyros moves into the clinch successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gyros is looking to break free of the clinch but Pray has double underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greek Gyros dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Pray gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Gyros counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Pray tries to roll over but Gyros keeps him under control.
Gyros wants to pass the guard but Pray is defending well.
Pray is trying to get back to full guard.
Pray wants to control but Gyros is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gyros trying to control from half guard but Pray is working away.
Pray tries to roll over but Gyros keeps him under control.
Gyros is keen to just control but Pray is a slippery customer.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Pray tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gyros sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pray somewhat.
Pray slaps away a takedown attempt from Gyros, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Pray shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gyros is trying to defend but Pray finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Gyros wants to control but Pray is keeping busy.
Gyros won't allow Pray to pass to mount.

Pray passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gyros!
Pray tries to control but Gyros wriggling away.
Gyros tries to hold on but Pray pushes him away.
Gyros sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Pray looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Pray slips a nice elbow through Gyros's hands, connecting with Gyros's forehead.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pray content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Pray trying to control from half guard but Gyros is working away.

Gyros kicks off Pray and gets to his feet.

Pray shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gyros's guard.
Gyros bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pray's guard.
Gyros postures up and lands a big shot to Pray's brow.
Gyros pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pray is keeping the position for now.
Gyros pushes down on Pray's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Gyros is trying to work for a kimura but Pray is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pray is looking to improve his position.
Pray has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gyros is working away from the top position though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pray misses with the combination.
Gyros misses with a takedown attempt - Pray sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Greek Gyros.
Well Gyros has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
