Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Gillespie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gillespie's entrance music is Go to sleep bit**. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson has a takedown stuffed.
Andrew Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gillespie tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance.
Jackson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Gillespie has Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.

It looks like Andrew Jackson has been cut.
Gillespie drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jackson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Jackson is squirming around, avoiding Gillespie's attempts to control the action.

Gillespie goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jackson is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gillespie is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jackson pulls his head out easily.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Gillespie tries to clinch but Jackson is having none of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gillespie is on top in guard.

Jackson is staying active underneath Gillespie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gillespie moves nicely into side control.
Gillespie tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Gillespie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jackson, who protects the arm well.

Gillespie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jackson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Jackson prevents Gillespie from moving into mount.

Gillespie is trying to ground and pound but Jackson uses the momentary lack of control by Gillespie to regain half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gillespie is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Jackson manages to get to full guard.
Gillespie scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Jackson is pulling down on Gillespie's head to control his posture.
Dallas Gillespie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gillespie wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.
Gillespie wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Gillespie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jackson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Gillespie is looking to clinch but Jackson is avoiding it.
Gillespie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Gillespie throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Gillespie manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Jackson is doing well to control the position and prevent Gillespie from advancing to side control.

Jackson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gillespie!

Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Gillespie tries to lock up and control but Jackson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Gillespie keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well Gillespie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
