PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Jr Jonesy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Squanch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Squanch is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Animal. Sam Squanch told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Jonesy with that takedown attempt.
Jonesy throws the left hand but Squanch avoids the punch easily.
Squanch scores with a jab to the jaw.
Jonesy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Squanch.
Squanch lands a nice shot to the body.
Jonesy throws a leg kick but Squanch sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Squanch punishes Jonesy's body with a nice straight punch.
Squanch fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jonesy manages to avoid it.
Squanch slips a jab and a cross from Jonesy.
Jonesy shoots for a double leg takedown but Squanch sprawls well. He's pushed Jonesy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jonesy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Squanch pinned against the cage. Squanch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jonesy looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Squanch scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jonesy doesn't seem bothered though.
Sam Squanch seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Squanch tries to bum rush Jonesy with a series of wild strikes but Jonesy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jonesy takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Squanch has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Squanch lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Squanch stalks Jonesy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jonesy's face. Jonesy staggers backwards, shaken.
Sam Squanch is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
