Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Teli Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns has chosen Delirium Trigger as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teli Austin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Burns!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin throws a hook but Burns blocks it.
Austin misses the jab.
Austin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Austin misses with a wild combination.
Austin throws a right and a left that Burns avoids nicely.
A nice combination there by Austin.


It looks like Travis Burns has been cut.
Austin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burns manages to avoid it.
Austin misses the jab.

Austin lands a left and a right that send Burns crashing to the mat, dazed. Austin thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Burns is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Austin loads up on a big right hand but Burns slips the punch.
Burns shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Austin as he jumps to the side.

Austin has Burns up against the cage in a clinch.

Austin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Austin throws an overhand right that lands on Burns's shoulder, as Burns tries to avoid the shot.
Austin's corner calls for a 1-2. Austin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Austin throws a hook but Burns avoids it easily.
Austin misses with a double jab.
Austin swinging wilding here.
Austin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Teli Austin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Austin tries to bum rush Burns with a series of wild strikes but Burns uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nice defenses there by Burns.

Austin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Burns slips a straight right by Austin.
Austin throws a series of punches but Burns moves out of range.
Burns checks a low kick from Austin.
Austin misses with an uppercut.

Burns bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Burns tries to move into full mount but can't pass Austin's legs.
Austin wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Burns tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Burns is trying to get an arm triangle but Austin is defending well.
Burns has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Austin!

Burns has control of Austin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Austin regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Burns is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Austin has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You get the feeling that Austin really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Burns swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Austin is now in Burns's guard. A big mistake from Burns there, giving up the dominant position!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Burns is trying to control the position but Austin postures up.

That was a close round but I would say that Teli Austin will probably get the nod.

Austin throws a low kick, looking for Burns's leg but Burns calmly moves out of range.
Austin throws a right hand that Burns ducks under and follows up with a left that Burns also avoids with ease.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Burns tries to score a power double leg takedown but Austin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Burns somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Burns walks into a left hand.
Austin looks to land a combination but Burns avoids it well.
Teli Austin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Burns walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Austin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Burns moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Austin has closed the distance and engaged Burns in a clinch.
Austin wants to get back to striking at distance but Burns won't allow it.
Burns blocks an elbow strike.

Austin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Burns gets the takedown into side control.
Austin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Burns asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Burns works to advance to full mount. Austin defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Burns is working for a guillotine from mount but Austin frees his head quite easily.

Burns jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Austin is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Austin and Burns has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Austin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Burns asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Burns is going olschool here, as he tries to force Austin to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Austin shrugs it off.
You get the feeling that Austin really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Burns has hold of Austin's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Austin manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Burns won't let Austin get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

No joy there for Austin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Austin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Austin wants it to stay on the feet.

Austin throws a series of punches but Burns avoids them all with ease.
Burns throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Austin's waist but Austin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Burns off to one side.
Teli Austin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Travis Burns.
Burns shoots in but no luck this time.

Burns scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Burns moves into full mount! Austin won't be happy about that!

Austin has left one of his arms exposed and Burns doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Austin screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Travis Burns!
