The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dowd pushes Howatt away with a front kick.
Howatt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dowd's waist but Dowd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Howatt off to one side.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Dowd blocks a jab.
Howatt throws a right and a left that Dowd avoids nicely.
Dowd keeps the fight on the outside.
Dowd tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Howatt counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Dowd to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Howatt!
