Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blaz Sliskovic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tupac Shakur!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shakur pushes Sliskovic up against the cage in a clinch.

Shakur has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sliskovic is trying to keep an underhook but Shakur manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Sliskovic wants to control but Shakur is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Sliskovic looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Shakur is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Shakur is thwarting Sliskovic's attempts to control the position.
Shakur lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Sliskovic wants to improve his position but Shakur is controlling well.
Sliskovic is trying to control but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nice sprawl there from Shakur as Sliskovic shoots in.

Shakur shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sliskovic is trying to defend but Shakur finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Shakur seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Shakur throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Shakur is looking to take a break and control but Sliskovic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Shakur with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Sliskovic has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shakur is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shakur wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sliskovic keeps working.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A bone on bone clash there as Sliskovic blocks the leg kick.
Shakur is looking to clinch.

Sliskovic shoots in and bounces Shakur off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Sliskovic is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Sliskovic trying to control but Shakur is working from the bottom.
Shakur wants to sweep but no luck.
Shakur really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sliskovic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sliskovic thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Shakur has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sliskovic can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Shakur looks gassed!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sliskovic doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Shakur counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sliskovic!

Sliskovic is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sliskovic regains half guard.
Sliskovic is looking for a sweep. Shakur is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sliskovic won't allow Shakur to pass to mount.
Sliskovic manages to get to full guard.
Shakur trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Sliskovic had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Shakur is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sliskovic Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Shakur's back instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sliskovic is trying to stick to Shakur's back but Shakur is turning into Sliskovic. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sliskovic's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Shakur.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sliskovic misses with a takedown

so Shakur counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Shakur postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Shakur must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Sliskovic working for a triangle but Shakur defends it easily.
Shakur trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sliskovic looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shakur is one step ahead there.

Sliskovic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shakur doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shakur manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Shakur tries to stand but Sliskovic is controlling from the bottom.

Shakur is in close to Sliskovic's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Shakur is looking to defend but Sliskovic has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Shakur! Sliskovic pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Shakur taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Blaz Sliskovic!
