Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mo Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrence Stanly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terrence Stanly has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mo Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Terrence Stanly!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanly fails in his attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stanly looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Stanly tries to clinch up.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lewis distracts Stanly with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Stanly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stanly lands a left and a right that send Lewis crashing to the mat, dazed. Stanly thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Mo Lewis has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stanly circles away from the clinch attempt.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Stanly is not content to let Lewis control the position.
Stanly is trying to stand.
Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stanly keeps working.

Stanly makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Stanly darts in trying to clinch

and Lewis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Stanly is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Lewis gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Lewis is breathing heavily.

Stanly avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lewis.
Stanly tries to kick Lewis off but Lewis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Stanly is not content to let Lewis control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Stanly looks to clinch

and Lewis counters with a takedown into side control.
Lewis wants to control but Stanly is keeping him busy.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lewis stands up and we're back to a striking position.
No joy there for Lewis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Stanly clinches with his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stanly wants a takedown.

Stanly gets control of Lewis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Stanly will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Stanly keeping moving, preventing Lewis from controlling successfully.
Stanly wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Lewis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Stanly, up you get!

Stanly rushes Lewis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Mo Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terrence Stanly.

Stanly is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lewis has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stanly keeps working.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lewis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lewis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stanly looks to clinch

and Lewis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mo Lewis dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mo Lewis's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Stanly tries to clinch
and Lewis counters with a three punch combo that has Stanly backing up. Stanly nods at Lewis to acknowledge the strikes.

Stanly tries to keep at a distance but Lewis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Stanly is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Lewis lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Lewis is working for takedown but Stanly is calmly controlling the position for now.
Stanly throws a head punch that misses.

Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Stanly wants to clinch

and Lewis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Lewis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stanly just stands there and leans against the cage.
Stanly tries to break the clinch but Lewis is controlling the position.
Lewis has Stanly pressed against the cage, preventing Stanly from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Lewis.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stanly looking for a takedown.
Lewis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stanly smiles and moves away.

Stanly throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Stanly tries to clinch up

and Lewis counters with a single leg into guard. Stanly didn't expect that.
Lewis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Stanly is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Stanly can't keep his opponent in guard - Lewis advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Lewis perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Stanly has one foot on Lewis's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Stanly closes the distance looking to clinch
and Lewis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Stanly wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Stanly tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lewis smiles and moves away.
Terrence Stanly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lewis looks to score with a jab to the body but Stanly is just out of range.
Lewis takes one to the chin there.
Lewis takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Stanly tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Lewis counters with a shoot takedown. Stanly fights it but they end up in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lewis tries to free his leg and advance position but Stanly is retaining full guard.

Stanly wriggles free and stands up.

and Lewis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lewis.
Lewis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Stanly.

Stanly tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lewis avoids it.
Stanly tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lewis smiles and moves away.
Lewis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lewis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Stanly is looking to clinch.
Stanly closes the distance and lands a one-two.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lewis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stanly throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lewis.
Stanly fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lewis digs a good hook to Stanly's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mo Lewis will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Mo Lewis's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Stanly throws a right hand that Lewis ducks under and follows up with a left that Lewis also avoids with ease.

Lewis closes the distance and clinches.

Lewis is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Stanly can't fight it off and eventually Lewis manages to take the fight to the floor. Stanly looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lewis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Lewis feints and as Stanly raises his hands in defense, Lewis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mo Lewis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lewis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Stanly wants to stand and escape but Lewis is having none of it.
Stanly wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lewis manages to pass to side control.

Lewis lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lewis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
