And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanlon gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Sanchez rushes Hanlon and presses him up against the cage.
Sanchez changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hanlon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hanlon avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Sanchez tries for a takedown but Hanlon manages to get underhooks.
Sanchez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hanlon just stands there and leans against the cage.
John Hanlon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Sanchez.

Hanlon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hanlon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Sanchez connects with a couple of short punches.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hanlon has momentary wrist control but Sanchez slips an elbow through the middle.

Hanlon pushes a forearm under Sanchez's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sanchez is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
