PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Osborne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shepard has chosen We Wont Back Down as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Wayne Osborne has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Wayne Osborne seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Osborne avoids the head kick by Shepard.
Osborne could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Shepard shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Osborne as he jumps to the side.
Osborne tries to clinch up but Shepard circles away and keeps his distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Osborne connects with a nice short shot to Shepard's temple.
Osborne misses with a head shot. Shepard uses the momentum to regain guard.

Osborne wants to stand and escape but instead Shepard has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Shepard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Osborne swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Shepard has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Osborne is proving hard to escape from.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Shepard tries to clinch there but Osborne circles away.

That was a close round but I would say that Wayne Osborne will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Shepard swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Osborne is now in Shepard's guard. A big mistake from Shepard there, giving up the dominant position!

Osborne gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Shepard counters with a nice double leg into side control. Osborne won't be happy with that.
Osborne pushes Shepard away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Shepard gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Osborne parries the strikes from Shepard easily there. Shepard is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Osborne to escape.

Shepard has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Osborne regains guard immediately.

Shepard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Osborne sprawls well. Osborne wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shepard gets slowly back to his feet.
