Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Frulani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frulani slips a jab from Johnson.
Johnson throws a right and a left that Frulani avoids nicely.
Johnson moves out of range of the strikes.
Frulani ducks under a wild hook from Johnson.

It looks like Thiago Frulani has been cut.
Frulani looks to throw the jab but Johnson is out of range.
Frulani looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Johnson and Frulani goes tumbling to the canvas! Johnson follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


Frulani is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Frulani has managed to free his arm - good work.
Oh Frulani is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Johnson in particular looking to stall.
Frulani seems to have got his legs back now.

Let's hope that Johnson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Johnson lands strikes from half guard.
Frulani is looking to improve his position.

Frulani on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Frulani tries to get out of the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Frulani is trying to stand.
Frulani won't allow Johnson to pass to mount.
Johnson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Despite being in the dominant position, Roger Johnson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A big left from Frulani misses.

Frulani is breathing heavily.

Johnson cracks Frulani with an uppercut from hell and Frulani crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Johnson's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Frulani can't keep his opponent in guard - Johnson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but Frulani is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Johnson to get the leverage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Johnson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Frulani is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roger Johnson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Thiago Frulani's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Frulani sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Roger Johnson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Frulani out cold! Frulani corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Roger Johnson!
