Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Vladimir Shavnetski!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shavnetski takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Shavnetski swinging wilding here.
Shavnetski swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shavnetski moves out of range of the strikes.
A combination from Shavnetski does no damage.
Shavnetski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A leg kick checked by David.
David misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shavnetski looks to score with a jab to the body but David is just out of range.
David misses the body punch
and Shavnetski counters with a nice leg kick.
Shavnetski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

David catches Shavnetski napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Shavnetski to the canvas!


It looks like Vladimir Shavnetski has been cut.
Shavnetski looks gassed!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
David sitting in guard, not really doing much.
David postures up in Shavnetski's guard and throws a big left but Shavnetski blocks it.
David looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

David wants to pass the guard but Shavnetski is keeping the position.

Shavnetski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. David doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. David manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
David advances to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
David tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Shavnetski.
David thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shavnetski's head.
David not landing any meaningful shots this time.
David throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Still in half guard, David seems content to control.
David has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Shavnetski gets back to full guard.
Shavnetski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
David would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
David postures up in Shavnetski's guard and throws a big left but Shavnetski blocks it.
David wanted to stand there but Shavnetski had control of the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
David in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
David stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shavnetski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Shavnetski moves out of range of the strikes.
Shavnetski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
David throws a series of punches but Shavnetski moves out of range.
David throws a right and a left that Shavnetski avoids nicely.
Shavnetski slips a straight right by David.
Shavnetski misses with the combination.
Shavnetski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Shavnetski throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
David uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shavnetski.
David lands a jab to the head.
Shavnetski throws a jab when David was well out of range.
David just misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark David dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Vladimir Shavnetski's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Shavnetski misses with an uppercut.
David uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
