Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dillon Branski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderley Rizzo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Branski fails in his attempt to clinch.
Branski throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Rizzo's head.


It looks like Wanderley Rizzo has been cut.
Branski fails with a takedown attempt.

Rizzo scores a takedown into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rizzo lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Rizzo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Branski hang on?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rizzo working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Rizzo looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Rizzo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Branski is trying to escape the mount.

Rizzo working for a submission but Branski is keeping him at bay.
Rizzo unloads with some shots from mount but Branski bucks and avoids them well.
Branski regains half guard.
Rizzo looks gassed!
Rizzo is thwarting Branski's attempts to control the position.
Branski is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Branski tries to get to full guard but Rizzo has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Rizzo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rizzo seems to be working for a kimura but Branski defends the submission attempt.
Branski gets back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rizzo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Branski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rizzo has managed to get both his arms back between Branski's legs - danger averted.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Branski pulls Rizzo in close to his closed guard and prevents Rizzo from doing any damage or advancing position.
Rizzo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Rizzo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Rizzo tries to free his leg and advance position but Branski is retaining full guard.
Rizzo throws a big right hand that misses.
Rizzo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Branski looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rizzo has a takedown stuffed.
Branski scores with a decent looking hook.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Branski shoots in for a double leg but Rizzo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Branski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rizzo.

Branski darts in and clinches Rizzo up against the cage.
Rizzo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Branski just stands there and leans against the cage.
Dillon Branski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wanderley Rizzo.

Branski breaks from the clinch.
Branski moves in looking to clinch but Rizzo pushes him off.
Rizzo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Branski counters with a three punch combo that has Rizzo backing up. Rizzo nods at Branski to acknowledge the strikes.

Branski closes the distance and pushes Rizzo back into the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Branski prevents a takedown attempt there.

Branski breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Wanderley Rizzo will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Wanderley Rizzo's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Branski looks for a takedown but Rizzo sprawls well.

and Rizzo counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Rizzo passes to side control.
Branski is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rizzo has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Rizzo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Branski!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rizzo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rizzo wants to finish this one by submission but Branski is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rizzo.
Branski is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rizzo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Branski is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Branski and Rizzo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Rizzo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Branski has escaped the position, nice work there.

Rizzo swings around for an armbar but Branski sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rizzo's guard.
Rizzo throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Rizzo striking off his back but it's not causing Branski any problems.
Branski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rizzo keeping moving, preventing Branski from controlling successfully.

Rizzo pushes a forearm under Branski's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Branski is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Wanderley Rizzo!
