Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rusty Trombone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sakuraba Sakurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakurai has chosen It will be war, hot sexy war.... as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakurai circles away from the clinch attempt.
Trombone defending well as Sakurai loads up on a big left hand.
Sakurai connects with a nice looking jab.

Trombone is rocked!

It looks like Rusty Trombone has been cut.
Sakurai misses with a double jab.
Trombone fails with a takedown attempt.

Sakurai gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sakurai wants to stand and escape but Trombone is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Trombone gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sakurai misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Trombone closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sakurai circles away.

Sakurai throws a series of punches but Trombone moves out of range.
Sakurai thows a body shot but no joy.
Sakurai just misses with a punch to the body.
Trombone throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sakurai's waist but Sakurai gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trombone off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rusty Trombone. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sakurai throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Trombone darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Sakurai tries to kick Trombone off but Trombone keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Sakurai is not content to let Trombone control the position.

Trombone is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sakurai doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Trombone.

Trombone wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sakurai keeps working.
Trombone moves into full mount! Sakurai won't be happy about that!
Sakurai is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Trombone is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sakurai can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Trombone misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Sakurai wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Trombone working for a guillotine from mount but Sakurai is in no mood to give up.
Trombone wants to take Sakurai's back here but Sakurai is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Sakurai trying desperately to get to his feet.

Trombone jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sakurai manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Sakurai pushes Trombone away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Trombone gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Trombone goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sakurai has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Trombone but great work by Sakurai.
Trombone tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sakurai wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Trombone is working hard here to advance position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Trombone avoids a punch combination nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Trombone doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Sakurai drops Trombone with a right and a left! Sakurai comes rushing in but Trombone regains his composure and manages to keep Sakurai in guard.
Oh Trombone is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sakurai must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Sakurai has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Trombone is proving hard to escape from.
Sakurai is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Trombone is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Trombone seems to have got his legs back now.

Trombone looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sakurai is looking to stand up but Trombone won't let him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sakurai gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That was a close round but I would say that Rusty Trombone will probably get the nod.

Trombone ducks straight into an uppercut from Sakurai and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Trombone maanges to regain guard straight away.
Trombone is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Trombone is looking to advance position but Sakurai won't allow it.
Sakurai is trying to stand back up but Trombone is controlling him

Sakurai is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Trombone is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sakurai has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sakurai!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Trombone is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Sakurai rolls with it to try and escape but Trombone cranks on the arm and Sakurai is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
