Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edward Lion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edward Lion has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Edward Lion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, David Cross!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross misses with an uppercut.
Cross scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Cross cracks Lion with an open hand slap.
Cross will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cross lands a jab to the nose.
The crowd cheers as Cross lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lion doesn't seem phased though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cross throws a series of punches but Lion moves out of range.
Cross rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lion moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lion is defended easily by Cross.
Cross misses with a wild body shot.
Cross darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Cross swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cross misses with a two punch combination.
Cross misses with a series of wild punches.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cross misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cross pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Lion drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cross is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cross is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Lion drops back looking for a leg! Cross is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cross manages to kick Lion off! Lion jumps back into Cross's guard.

Cross working for a triangle but Lion defends it easily.

Lion thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lion drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cross looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cross looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cross!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cross wants to control but Lion is keeping him busy.
Lion tries to improve position but can't.
Cross just content to control the position.
Lion is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Cross trying to control the action but Lion is working from the bottom.

Lion looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Cross dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Left hook, right uppercut from Cross.
Lion dives in and grabs Cross's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cross pushes down on Lion's head and hops out.

Cross drops Lion with a beautiful combination! Lion stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cross is looking for the KO!


It looks like Edward Lion has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lion ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Edward Lion is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Cross lands a big right hand that sends Lion crashing to the mat! Cross stays standing though and waves Lion back to his feet!


Lion is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cross throws a series of punches but Lion avoids them all with ease.

Cross tries to hold on but Lion postures up.
Cross really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Cross wants to control but Lion is having none of it.

Lion moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cross has worked his arm free - good work by Cross!

Lion thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Cross is trying to get back to half guard.
Lion prevents Cross from escaping the position.
Cross tries to improve position but can't.

Lion is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cross knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Lion goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cross has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lion but great work by Cross.

Lion takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
A lull in the action here as Cross stalls from top position.
An elbow from Cross crashes against the mat.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cross trying to control the action but Lion is working from the bottom.
Cross might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lion kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Lion is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cross off and has taken his back!
Cross is really stuck here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cross tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Lion moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cross has worked his arm free - good work by Cross!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Cross showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Edward Lion's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Cross looks to throw the jab but Lion is out of range.
David Cross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cross misses with the combination.
Cross throws a nice head kick!
Good standup being displayed there by Cross as he connects with a hook.
Lion slips a jab and a cross from Cross.
Lion shoots in for a double leg but Cross sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cross scores with a sloppy right hand. Lion should have avoided that one.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cross scores with a hook to the body. Lion takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lion tries to move into range but Cross moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Lion tries for a takedown but Cross sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lion shoots for a double leg takedown but Cross sprawls well. He's pushed Lion's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edward Lion. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cross thuds his right hand into Lion's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Cross will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cross misses with a series of wild punches.
Cross has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Lion blocks a head kick by Cross.
Cross jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lion misses with a takedown attempt - Cross sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lion shoots in but no luck this time.
David Cross seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Cross tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lion was well out of range. Poor timing from Cross.
Cross clobbers Lion with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Lion on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Cross might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Cross moves into range and connects with a jab.
Lion loses concentration momentarily and Cross pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Lion crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Cross finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). David Cross!
