Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Great Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Fife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob comes to the cage accompanied by Grandpa. Fife is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Transfiguration #1. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Great Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Barney Fife!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fife looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fife tries for a takedown but Bob sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Great Bob has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barney Fife.

Fife takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Fife shoots in looking for a takedown. Bob tries to sprawl out of it but Fife keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bob manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fife shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bob defends it nicely.

Fife throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bob's waist but Bob gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fife off to one side.

Bob gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fife to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Bob sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Fife passes Bob's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Barney Fife showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Fife has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bob bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fife's guard.

Bob tries to free his leg and advance position but Fife is retaining full guard.

Fife escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bob gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fife had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bob is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Fife Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bob's back instead.
Well, with Fife on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Bob is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
