Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hecor ZIG (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yair Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yair Lopez has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lopez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but ZIG manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lopez has ZIG in his guard.
ZIG has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lopez is proving hard to escape from.

ZIG stands up from guard. Let's bang!
ZIG is breathing heavily.

ZIG gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

ZIG wriggles free and stands up.
ZIG throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Lopez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lopez showed some decent athleticism there.

ZIG is not content to let Lopez control the position.
Lopez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

ZIG decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Lopez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Lopez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lopez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

ZIG changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lopez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

ZIG decides to stand back up. ZIG steps back and let's Lopez get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
ZIG moves in looking to clinch but Lopez pushes him off.

and Lopez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Lopez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. ZIG was covering up waiting for the punch and Lopez finishes the takedown easily into guard.

ZIG pushes Lopez off and scrambles back to his feet.

Lopez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in ZIG's guard.
ZIG is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Lopez throws and elbow that misses. ZIG uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lopez's guard. Nice move by ZIG!

ZIG got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lopez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, ZIG has managed to get both his arms back between Lopez's legs - danger averted.

ZIG manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Lopez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
