The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Trigg as he jumps to the side.
Goto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Trigg pinned against the cage. Trigg gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Goto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Goto is trying hard to land a takedown here. Trigg sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daigo Goto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Goto moves in looking to clinch but Trigg pushes him off.
Trigg defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Goto.
Goto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Trigg as he jumps to the side.
Goto fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goto checks the leg kick nicely there.
Goto shoots in but Trigg avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Goto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Trigg to the mat! Trigg manages to get full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trigg can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Trigg flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Goto is looking to take a break and control but Trigg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Goto maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Trigg could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Goto has cracked it and Trigg is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Goto!
