PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aamin Haidar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haidar comes to the cage accompanied by target=blank>drop the world. Haidar is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aamin Haidar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Silva!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haidar tries to clinch there but Silva circles away.
Haidar is breathing heavily.
Haidar connects with a solid leg kick.
Haidar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva tries to avoid it but Haidar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva to the ground. Silva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Silva is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Haidar's half guard.

Silva's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Silva scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Silva decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Silva is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Haidar will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Silva has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Silva is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Haidar can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Haidar's face.

Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Silva fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Haidar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

Silva has hold of Haidar's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Haidar manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Silva is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Haidar could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Silva shoots in but Haidar avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Silva has Haidar up against the cage in a clinch.

Silva drags the fight down to the ground.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Haidar is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Haidar's back instead.
Haidar is trapped and Silva is scoring with shots to the head and body.

Silva throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Haidar!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva has got one arm under Haidar's chin. This could be trouble... Haidar trying to control the other hand but Silva gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Haidar has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Randy Silva!
