Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mima Samwich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris McCoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mima Samwich!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCoy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Samwich looking for a sweep. Not yet Samwich, not yet.
McCoy wants to pass the guard but Samwich is keeping the position.
Samwich keeping moving, preventing McCoy from controlling successfully.
Samwich trying to control the position.
McCoy wants to control from the top but Samwich keeps moving.
McCoy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

McCoy throws a strike but Samwich rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Samwich doesn't manage to clinch there - McCoy circles away.

McCoy shoots in and bounces Samwich off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McCoy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Samwich gets back to half guard.
Samwich is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McCoy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McCoy's back!

Samwich might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McCoy kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Samwich fails with an attempt to clinch.

McCoy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McCoy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and McCoy counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Samwich!

McCoy lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Samwich is breathing heavily.
McCoy looking to control but Samwich is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
McCoy throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Samwich regains half guard.
Samwich wants to control but McCoy is keeping busy.
McCoy wants to pass to mount but Samwich is defending the position.
McCoy wants to control but Samwich is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris McCoy dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Samwich wants to clinch.
McCoy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Samwich as he jumps to the side.
Samwich tries to close the distance and clinch up but McCoy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Samwich shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and McCoy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Samwich not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

McCoy wants to control from the top but Samwich keeps moving.
McCoy working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
McCoy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Samwich swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Samwich takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Chris McCoy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

McCoy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

McCoy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Samwich does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for McCoy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
