The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mertof tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hukidomo moves out of range as Mertof throws a body kick.
Mertof stuffs the takedown.
Hukidomo looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mertof could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mertof looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jay Sun Hukidomo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A head kick misses from Mertof.
Mertof throws a head kick that misses.
Hukidomo misses with a takedown attempt - Mertof sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mertof misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mertof throws a lazy right hand but Hukidomo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hukidomo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hukidomo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Jay Sun Hukidomo dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Hukidomo lands a huge takedown. Mertof is out but the ref is slow to react and Hukidomo lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Mertof lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Sun Hukidomo!
