The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eater tries to close the distance and clinch but Starr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Eater misses with a two punch combination.
Starr is looking to clinch but Eater is avoiding it.
Starr has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Eater finds it's way round the side to connect with Starr's head.
Starr fails with a takedown attempt.

Eater throws a right and a left that Starr avoids nicely.

Starr closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Eater did well to prevent Starr getting side control.

Eater had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Starr is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Eater Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Starr's back instead.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Eater throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Starr escapes and throws Eater's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Starr decides to stand back up. Starr steps back and let's Eater get back to his feet.

and Eater counters with a low kick, right behind Starr 's knee.

Starr fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Eater avoids it really well and circles away.

Starr is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eater is looking to improve his position but Starr isn't that keen on the idea.

Eater slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
