Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raymond Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcos Romero!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels leaves Romero with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Daniels is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Romero's half guard.
Daniels frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Daniels is working for a guillotine from mount but Romero frees his head quite easily.
Romero working to try and regain half guard.

Daniels is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Romero looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Daniels really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Romero seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Romero looks gassed!
Romero trying to control from half guard but Daniels is working away.
Romero trying to mount his opponent but Daniels defends it.
Daniels is trying to maintain the position but Romero is very close to passing his half guard.

Romero thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Daniels trying to control from the bottom.
Daniels is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Romero trying to control from half guard but Daniels is working away.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Daniels drives through with a takedown into guard.

Daniels gets to his feet - Romero follows without any prompting.

Daniels closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Romero is looking for a sweep. Daniels is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Romero wants to control but Daniels is keeping busy.
Romero tries to get to full guard but Daniels has control of the leg.
Daniels prevents Romero from standing back up.
Romero is looking to get back to full guard here but Daniels has managed to pass to side control instead.
Daniels looking to control but Romero is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Daniels with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Daniels is going olschool here, as he tries to force Romero to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Romero shrugs it off.
Romero tries to lock up and control but Daniels gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Romero is desperately trying to improve his position but Daniels has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Romero tries to hold on but Daniels pushes him away.
Romero is looking to improve his position but Daniels isn't that keen on the idea.
Romero looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raymond Daniels dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Romero with a poor takedown

and Daniels counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Romero!
Daniels lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Romero hang on?

Romero tries to improve his position but Daniels has taken his back! Daniels has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Romero tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Daniels pushes Romero away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
