PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samiro Kahric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Makalenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kahric might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to B00M. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samiro Kahric!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makalenko fails in his attempt to clinch.
Makalenko throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kahric swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Makalenko to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Samiro Kahric has been cut.
Makalenko connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kahric. Kahric circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Makalenko looks to throw the jab but Kahric is out of range.

Kahric shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kahric wants to pass to mount but Makalenko is defending the position.

Kahric decides to return to a standing position.

Kahric forces Makalenko back against the cage and clinches.
Kahric connects with a knee to the head.
Kahric throws a punch but it's blocked by Makalenko.

Kahric pulls guard effortlessly.
Makalenko trying to control the position from guard on top but Kahric is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Makalenko would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kahric wants to stand and escape but Makalenko is having none of it.

Kahric has his foot on Makalenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Makalenko works his way back into a safe position though.

Makalenko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Makalenko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kahric is breathing heavily.

Kahric throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Makalenko escapes and throws Kahric's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Makalenko tries to stand but Kahric is controlling his head.

Makalenko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kahric, who protects the arm well.

Makalenko tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Makalenko working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kahric is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Makalenko is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kahric knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Makalenko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Makalenko moves into full mount!
Kahric is trying to stand.
Makalenko is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Kahric is in real trouble.

Makalenko is working for a rear naked choke. Kahric is not defending it well and Makalenko has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Kahric refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Kahric's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
