The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Russki is looking for a triangle but Sanchez pushes his legs off easily.
Sanchez tries to free his leg and advance position but Russki is retaining full guard.

Russki has control of Sanchez's left arm, preventing Sanchez from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Russki is trying to control the position but Sanchez postures up.
Sanchez is in close to Russki's body, working some short punches and elbows.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Russki gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Russki takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Sanchez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sanchez lands a nice hook to Russki's body. Russki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Russki misses the shot to the body.
Sanchez scores with a shot to the body.
Russki takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Sanchez moves into the clinch.

Sanchez lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Sanchez works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Russki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sanchez postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Sanchez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sanchez distracts Russki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Russki is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sanchez content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Russki trying to keep a closed guard but Sanchez is proving a slippery customer.
Russki is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Sanchez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Russki looks to score with a jab to the body but Sanchez is just out of range.

Russki gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sanchez.
A looping hook to the body misses from Russki. Sanchez does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Russki counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sanchez thinking.
Sanchez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Russki moves away.
Russki misses with a looping right.
Russki throws a hook but Sanchez avoids it easily.
Russki misses the shot to the body.
Russki lands with a cross.


It looks like Pedro Sanchez has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanchez closes the distance and clinches up with Russki, looking for a takedown. Sanchez pushes Russki against the cage but Russki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sanchez is looking to wear down Russki with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Russki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sanchez misses with a hook to the body
and Russki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A combination from Russki does no damage.
Russki throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Russki Rushes Sanchez and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Sanchez is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Russki Piles on the pressure and Sanchez crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nikolai Russki!
